I would have loved to ride my bicycle downhill all the way on that highway, when we’ll be there in September, but unfortunately the tunnel is off-limits to bicyclists.
There’s barely room in the tunnel for modern vehicles and it’s pitch black for most of the way. Cycling through it would be very dangerous. I’m sure there are plenty of other places to ride….the whole area is gorgeous
I know about the dangers there, and I will definitely not ride through the tunnel. Thanks for the warning with the details.

I loved the windows in this tunnel that gave brief glimpses of the canton and the overlook trail that starts just beside the tunnel entrance. Allan
As I recall, no lighting except for those windows. They were cool!
It’s not too bad going through the tunnel when they restrict it to one lane. A bit scary, though, when there’s a motorhome coming at you during two way traffic.
