Virtual Paddle in Congaree National Park»
We explored Congaree on the boardwalk trails when we visited, but there are also marked water trails in the park. Enjoy this three-minute stroll and paddle through lovely Congaree, without the mosquitoes, courtesy of GoTraveler on You Tube (video embedded below):
Congaree National Park in South Carolina protects the old growth forest on the floodplain of the Congaree River. When we were there, we thought it a swamp because the Cypress trees we saw were submerged in water. It is technically not a swamp, but a ‘bottomland’ subject to periodic flooding.
