International Day of Forests actually began as World Forestry Day in 1971, established at the annual Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization. The United Nations declared March 21st the International Day of Forests in 2012.

The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the importance of forests. Deforestation is a major factor in climate change. Here are some forests we’ve visited.
