Saratoga National Historical Park: Virtual Battlefield Drive

Welcome back to National Parks and other public lands with T!

We visited Saratoga National Historical Park on our way home from Lake Placid several years ago. You can see the post about that visit here. Now, through a web tour from the NPS and a YouTube video (embedded below), you can experience the historic battlefield from the comfort of your armchair

The National Park Service has a virtual tour of Saratoga National Historical Park available on their website. Access it by clicking here. As you click through each page, you will see images and information about each stop on the Battlefield driving tour.

A Video Tour of Saratoga

Follow the Americas Parks family as they visit Saratoga National Historical Park. The American victory here in 1777 is considered the turning point of the American Revolution. It was the first time in world history that a British Army had ever surrendered and it convinced the French, and then the Dutch and Spanish to ally themselves with the Americans. In this 5-minute video, footage of the park is combined with ranger talks at the various stops along the tour road. This is very close to our actual experience at Saratoga when we visited years ago.

  1. Dear Teresa,

I am not sure if you have been to the Delaware Water Gap on your journeys but you should check it out before the last of the foliage disappears. You also have to stop off at Hot Dog Johnny’s for lunch. Those fries are to die for.

    Have a safe Thanksgiving.

    Sincerely,

    Justin
