Grinnell Glacier Virtual Hike►
On our last day in Glacier National Park in Montana, we decided to explore the Many Glacier Valley. We hiked as far as we could on the Grinnell Glacier trail, to the overlook of Grinnell Lake. The remainder of the trail to the Glacier was still blocked by snow and ice. In this 8-minute YouTube video courtesy of At Home In Wild Spaces, you can take the entire hike virtually.
This was our favorite hike of the trip. It took us past three lovely lakes, alpine meadows with breathtaking mountains towering over the valley. We spent the morning on this hike, getting an early start to avoid the crowds. This is one of the most popular hikes in the park. The trail runs about six miles, out and back.

This was easily one of my favourite hikes when we visited Glacier National Park a few years ago.
Ours too!
Ah this makes me so eager for summer to be here! What a lovely experience!

This looks like the perfect hike. Such beautiful territory.
It was a great hike!
Peg and I did some backcountry backpacking at Glacier. Beautiful, but I do remember getting nervous about all the fresh grizzly scat. Did you see any grizzlies out on the trail, Theresa? –Curt
Hi Curt! The only bears we saw were frolicking by the side of Going to the Sun Road. I think we were too noisy on trail to see much beyond chipmunks and deer.
This is such a beautiful hike!
It is! 🙂
