High Falls Gorge Nature Park»
High Falls Gorge is a privately owned park near Lake Placid which has been open to the public since the late 19th century. The family owned attraction features well-maintained trails, walkways and bridges on 22 acres along the west branch of the Ausable River. Four different waterfalls can be seen along the one-mile nature trail.

I look up their web site. It is a steep price for a 1 mile hike. Adults are $13.00 and children 4 – 12 $10. plus 8% sales tax. For a two parent family with one child this is $38.88.
That is expensive for a family. We were just two and I don’t remember it being particularly spendy…we may have had a discount from our hotel or with pass we bought for area attractions, but I can’t recall. It is very nicely maintained…lots of wooden bridges and railings.
Such a beautiful place. Spent a lot of time hiking that region in all seasons.
