About these photos»
- Place: Bryce Canyon National Park
- Date: 11/18/2018
- Photo Credit: Wenyu (Wander, Savor, Marvel)
- Why they are some of my favorites:
- Photo 1: Bryce Canyon was overall amazing. But at sunset point, this was the first view that allowed us to see the details of the hoodoos, especially the visual illusion of some of them being lit from inside due to the varying colors of the rocks. It was other-worldly.
- Photo 2: We then took a hike along the Navajo Loop Trail. I enjoy hiking National Parks with my dear family. It is always the best time we spend with each other. The lady at the bottom of the photo is my wife. This photo reminds how lucky I am to have married her who always supports me and accompanies me wherever I go.
- Photo 3: At Bryce Point, we were waiting for the sunset, and we saw a different side of the hoodoos in terms of the rugged texture as well as the inherent order that was an indicator of the natural forces that had shaped them. For some reason it was awe-inspiring.
- Photo 4: Panorama of Bryce Point at sunset was, what can I say, just spectacular. The hues from the setting sun made the view even more dramatic, but also exceptionally serene. Bryce Canyon is always crowded and that moment was no exception, but I felt nature was whispering to us.

Meet Wenyu from Wander, Savor, Marvel»
My name is Wenyu Zhang. I started my national park journey in 2007 when I went to Yosemite. And since then, these trips to various natural and historical places have allowed me to appreciate nature, contemplate history, reflect on myself, and cherish relationships with family and friends. They are such a contrast to the busyness of the world and the pursuit of superficial, temporal goals. They also inspired me to teach myself photography as an effort to capture and document our moments at the parks. I love to share with people our trips and how many hidden gems in the country that many people are missing. —Written by Wenyu Zhang from Wander, Savor, Marvel
